About this tool
This National Parks Map is a free interactive tracker for the 63 designated national parks of the United States. Tap any pin on the map or check a park off the list, and your stats update instantly: parks visited, percentage complete, region completion, and the number of states you've reached.
The 63 parks span 30 states and two territories, from Acadia on the coast of Maine to the vast Alaskan wilderness of Wrangell, St. Elias and Gates of the Arctic. California leads with nine parks, Alaska has eight, and Utah's famous Mighty 5 (Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches) make a classic road trip. The smallest is Gateway Arch in Missouri at under 200 acres, while the largest, Wrangell, St. Elias, covers more than 8 million.
Visiting every national park has become one of the most popular travel goals in America. Whether you're a few parks in or chasing all 63, this map gives you a clear picture of where you've been and what's left, organised by region so you can plan the next trip.

By the numbers
Great Smoky Mountains (North Carolina and Tennessee) is the most visited national park by a wide margin, with about 12.2 million recreation visits in 2024. At the other end, Gates of the Arctic in Alaska is the least visited, with just 11,907 visits, because it has no roads and sits entirely above the Arctic Circle. Across all its sites, the National Park Service recorded a record 331.9 million visits in 2024.
