How Photos Get
Pinned on Maps

TripMemo uses the GPS data already embedded in your photos to automatically place them on your journey map.

01

Take a Photo

Your phone embeds GPS coordinates (EXIF data) into every photo you take with location services enabled.

02

TripMemo Reads Location

When you add a photo, TripMemo automatically extracts the GPS coordinates and places it on your map.

03

Photo Pinned to Place

Your photo appears exactly where you took it. Tap any pin to see all photos from that location.

No GPS data? No problem.

If a photo doesn't have location data, you can manually pin it anywhere on the map with a single tap. TripMemo remembers the location forever.

Photo Map FAQ

How does TripMemo pin photos on a map?
TripMemo reads the GPS coordinates from your photo's EXIF metadata and automatically places it on the map. If a photo doesn't have location data, you can manually pin it to any location with a single tap.
What is EXIF geotagging?
EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) data includes metadata like date, time, and GPS coordinates embedded in your photos. When you take a photo with location services enabled, your phone stores where the photo was taken. TripMemo reads this data to auto-place photos on your map.
Can I add photos that don't have GPS data?
Yes! If a photo doesn't have location data, you can manually pin it anywhere on the map. Just tap the location where the photo was taken, and TripMemo remembers it forever.
How do I explore trips by location?
Open any TripBook and tap the map view. You'll see all your photos pinned to their locations. Tap any pin to see the photos from that spot, or zoom out to see your entire journey visualized.
Can I see my route on the map?
Yes. TripMemo connects your pins chronologically, showing the path you traveled. It's a visual representation of your journey—where you started, where you went, and every stop along the way.
Does the map work offline?
The map requires an internet connection to load new areas. However, areas you've previously viewed are cached, and all your photos and pins are stored locally so you can always access your memories.
