How to make a year book

A year book is a different job from a trip book: the photos come from twelve months, not one week away. This is the order that works.

  1. Gather the whole year

Go through your camera roll month by month and pick the photos you would show a friend: the trips, the birthdays, the ordinary Sundays. Add them all at once and take some out later.

  2. Keep it in order

The studio can put your photos in the order they were taken, so the book reads from January to December. It also finds duplicate photos, so you can remove them in one step.

  3. Give each trip its pages

Let the big trips have full pages and day pages of their own, and let the smaller moments share grid pages in between. Captions keep the names and dates you will want to remember.

  4. Choose the cover last

Pick a year cover once the pages are in. The collage covers fill with your own photos, so you see your year on the front before you order.

Travelled with TripMemo this year? The app sorts your photos by day and place as you go, so a year of trips is already in order when you make the book. Make it in the app on iPhone, or here on the web.

A year book makes a thoughtful gift

In November and December a year book is one of the most personal presents you can give: a family's year for the grandparents, a couple's year of weekends away, a friend's first year in a new city.

Start it early in the season, so there is time to choose the photos without a rush. You see every page before you pay, and delivery is calculated for the address at checkout.

Frequently asked questions

What is a year in review photo book?

One printed book of your whole year: the trips, weekends away and family days from January to December, with 2026 on the cover and spine. Some people call it a yearly photo book or a family year book.

Can I make a year book on my phone?

Yes. Make it here on the web, or in the TripMemo app on iPhone. The app also sorts your photos by day and place as you travel, which saves a lot of time across a whole year.

Do the year covers use my own photos?

The Mosaic, Editorial, Stamps, Postcards, Small escapes, Arch and Good days covers fill with your own photos. Signpost, Parasol, Contrails, Deckchair, Suitcase, Sun hat, Window seat and Cobalt are illustrated, so they need no photo at all.

Can I change the year on the cover?

Yes. The cover and spine show the year set in your book, and you can change it in the book's settings, for example to make a book of last year.

How many pages can a year book have?

Hardcover books have 24 to 298 pages, softcover 20 to 298 and layflat 18 to 120, so there is room for a busy year.

How much does a year book cost?

A hardcover year book starts at £28.49 for the book itself. Softcover starts at £26.49 and layflat at £41.98. Delivery is calculated at checkout.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Delivery is calculated for your address at checkout, before you pay.
