A practical way to learn Asian countries
Asia is the largest continent, stretching from the Mediterranean coast of the Levant to the Pacific shores of Japan, and from the Arctic edge of Siberia to the islands of Indonesia. A map quiz teaches the spatial knowledge a list of names never can. Rather than only knowing that Kazakhstan exists, you learn that it sits south of Russia, north of the Central Asian states and west of China.
Start with large, recognisable anchors. India forms the unmistakable subcontinent, China dominates the centre and east, and Saudi Arabia fills most of the Arabian Peninsula. Japan and the Korean Peninsula sit off the Pacific coast, while the long arc of Southeast Asia runs from Myanmar down to Indonesia. Once those anchors are secure, fill in Central Asia, the Caucasus and the smaller states of the Gulf and Southeast Asia.
Quick Round is designed for frequent, low-pressure practice. It selects 12 playable countries and rewards quick recognition. Marathon mode asks for every country represented by a clearly tappable shape in the map. Very small states are not used as prompts when their shapes would be too small for a fair touch target, especially on a phone.
This is deliberately different from the Countries of the World Quiz, where the challenge is recalling names. It is also different from the Visited Countries Map, which tracks where you have travelled. Here, the challenge is simple and focused: find the named country in the correct place.
Country names and continental groupings come from TripMemo's maintained geography dataset. The playable list is intersected with the countries available as tappable paths in the map, preventing the game from asking for an impossible target. Gameplay and content last reviewed June 2026.

How do you play the Asia map quiz?
Choose a quick 12-country round or the full marathon. Read the country shown in the prompt, then tap it on the map of Asia. You have three attempts before the correct country is revealed.
Is the Asia Map Game free?
Yes. It is free to play, requires no account and can be replayed as often as you like. Both Quick Round and Marathon mode are available without signing up.
