Sunrise on Charles Bridge
Charles Bridge, Prague
The alarm said 5:30am. Everything in me said no. Did it anyway. Walked through empty streets as the sky turned pink. The bridge was nearly deserted—just a few photographers, a street sweeper, and the stone saints standing guard as they have for six hundred years. The castle glowed gold across the river. A cellist appeared from nowhere and started playing Bach. No amplification, just music and stone and water and light. I sat on the cold bridge and forgot I was tired. Some moments justify any sacrifice of sleep.

Beer and Belonging
U Zlateho Tygra, Prague
Found the pub that Vaclav Havel used to frequent. No English menu. No tourists. Just locals who've been coming for decades, sitting at long wooden tables, and the best Pilsner Urquell I've ever tasted. The bartender pulled my beer without asking—just nodded when I sat down and started pouring. Two hours disappeared. My table neighbors didn't speak my language but we clinked glasses anyway. They say Czech beer tastes better in Czech pubs. They're right. It's not the beer. It's the belonging.
