Make a photo book of your Tennessee trip
- 5 illustrated covers drawn for Tennessee
- 2 places on the covers
- Hardcover, softcover or layflat, in three sizes
- Made on the web or in the app, printed when you order
Tennessee is a music trip first. Most visitors drive the stretch of I-40 between Memphis and Nashville known as the Music Highway, and the camera roll fills with neon on Beale Street and Broadway, the gates of Graceland, a stage you have heard on a hundred records and a lot of hot chicken. Then the road climbs east into the Great Smoky Mountains, and the photos turn to misty ridges and black bears. A book holds both halves.
The covers follow the soundtrack. Nashville has a red electric guitar, a white cowboy hat stitched with music notes, and a pair of white boots kicked up against an orange sun. Tennessee has an acoustic guitar on lilac and a glass of its own whiskey over ice, for the distillery stop on the way between them.

Where in Tennessee?
The cities, coasts and corners the Tennessee covers are drawn for. Pick the place your trip was about, or keep the whole country on the front.

Nashville
3 covers
Nashville is Lower Broadway at night, with live bands in every bar from the middle of the day, the stained glass of the Ryman Auditorium, the circle of wood at the Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame and a plate of hot chicken. Its covers are a red electric guitar, a white hat with music notes stitched on it, and a pair of white boots kicked up against the sun, the one most bachelorette books end up wearing.

Memphis
Memphis is where the music trip gets serious: Graceland and Elvis's Jungle Room, the tiny studio at Sun where he first recorded, the blues on Beale Street, the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel, and the ducks marching to the fountain in the Peabody's lobby. There is no Memphis cover by name, but the Tennessee guitar retitled Memphis sits naturally over these pages.

Lynchburg and whiskey country
South of Nashville, the Jack Daniel's distillery in Lynchburg shows how Tennessee whiskey is filtered through sugar maple charcoal, and the square in town is a good half hour of photos on its own. George Dickel's distillery sits nearby at Cascade Hollow. The Tennessee whiskey cover was drawn for this chapter.

The Great Smoky Mountains
In the east, Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited national park in the country: blue ridges fading into haze, black bears and deer in the meadows of Cades Cove, the observation tower on Kuwohi (long called Clingmans Dome) and the drive over Newfound Gap. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, with Dolly Parton's Dollywood, sit at the park's edge. Any Tennessee cover can be retitled Smoky Mountains, or you can put your own photo of the ridges on the front.

Chattanooga
Chattanooga is a short detour with big views: the Incline Railway up Lookout Mountain, Rock City's gardens and its lookout over several states, and the underground waterfall at Ruby Falls. It has no cover of its own and fits under any Tennessee title.
Tennessee photo book ideas
Many visitors arrive on a Southern music road trip, sometimes starting in New Orleans, and travel Tennessee from west to east: Memphis, Nashville, a stop for whiskey, then the Smoky Mountains. Here is how to turn that drive into chapters.
Build it chapter by chapter
Follow the route you took and let each stop be its own chapter. Turn on day pages and every day opens with a page you can title, so the book reads in the order you lived it.
Memphis
The front gates and the Jungle Room at Graceland, the Sun Studio sign, Beale Street's neon after dark, the balcony of the Lorraine Motel, and the Peabody ducks on their red carpet.
The Music Highway
Signs for the Music Highway along I-40, a roadside barbecue stop, and the Nashville skyline appearing ahead with the tall Batman building in the middle.
Nashville
Lower Broadway lit up at night, the Ryman's stained glass windows, the circle on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry, the wings mural in the Gulch, and the full-size Parthenon in Centennial Park.

Whiskey country
The barrel houses and limestone spring at the Jack Daniel's distillery, the town square in Lynchburg, and a tasting flight lined up on the bar.
Chattanooga
The view from the top of the Incline Railway, the lookout at Rock City, and the lit waterfall deep inside Ruby Falls.
The Smoky Mountains
Layers of blue ridges from the tower on Kuwohi, a black bear crossing a field in Cades Cove, the old cabins along the loop road, and the autumn colour over Newfound Gap.

The landmarks take care of themselves. These are the photos you’ll be glad you took.

Make it yours
A Tennessee book often runs west to east along I-40, so switch on the route map and the first page shows the drive from Memphis to Nashville and up into the mountains. Day pages keep the nights apart: Beale Street on Friday, the Opry on Saturday, a quiet cabin in the Smokies by Tuesday.
Caption the bands you saw and the bars you saw them in, because the names blur by the end of a weekend on Broadway, and keep the setlist or your Opry ticket as a photo for a page of its own. The cover title and year are yours to change, which is how a Nashville bachelorette book ends up with the bride's name on the front.
Hardcover, softcover or layflat
The same Tennessee cover on all three books. Choose the one that suits your trip.

Tennessee photo book questions
Which cover suits a Nashville bachelorette party?
The Nashville cowboy boots, two white boots kicked up against an orange sun on pale pink, is the favourite for a bachelorette weekend. The white hat with music notes on lilac suits it too. Change the title to the bride's name if you like.
Is there a cover for Memphis or Graceland?
There is no cover named for Memphis, but every cover can be retitled. The Tennessee acoustic guitar suits a Memphis trip well, or put your own photo of Graceland or Beale Street on the front with a photo cover style.
Is there a Smoky Mountains cover?
Not for Tennessee. Retitle a Tennessee cover, or use your own photo of the ridges on the front. If your trip crossed into the North Carolina side of the park, the North Carolina covers include a black bear and the Blue Ridge.
Can I put Memphis, Nashville and the Smokies in one book?
Yes. One book can hold the whole drive. A route map at the front shows it, and day pages open each day so each city reads as its own chapter.
Is the whiskey cover only for a distillery tour?
No. It shows a glass of whiskey over ice and says Tennessee, so it suits any trip around the state, and it is a good choice for a book given as a gift.
Can I make my Tennessee photo book on my phone?
Yes. Make it in the TripMemo app on iPhone, which sorts your trip photos by day and place, or on the web at tripmemo.app.
How much does a Tennessee photo book cost?
A Tennessee photo book starts at £26.49 for a softcover, £28.49 for a hardcover and £41.99 for a layflat, before delivery. The price grows with the pages you add, and you see the exact total, with delivery to your address, before you pay. UK orders usually arrive in 5 to 8 working days, and we ship worldwide.
How many photos do I need for a Tennessee photo book?
A short break usually gives 60 to 120 photos worth printing, which fill 24 to 40 pages. A week gives 150 to 250 photos for 40 to 80 pages, and two weeks or more 250 to 400 photos for 80 to 150 pages. Your photos are laid out for you, two to a page by default, and you can change it to one to four.
