Make a photo book of your London trip
- 4 illustrated covers drawn for London
- Hardcover, softcover or layflat, in three sizes
- Made on the web or in the app, printed when you order
A few days in London leave a camera roll that jumps all over the map. Big Ben from Westminster Bridge, a Beefeater at the Tower, the top deck of a bus crawling down the Strand, a flat white in a Borough Market queue, Tower Bridge lit up from the riverside on the walk back. A photo book puts the city back together, one day and one part of town at a time.
The covers are drawn from the London everyone photographs: an old-style red double-decker with its destination blind showing, the clock tower of the Houses of Parliament, and the red telephone box, once plain and once with a single rose at its foot. Each reads London in tall capitals with the year beneath, and each can be retitled for the weekend, the birthday or the year you lived there.

Where in London?
The cities, coasts and corners the London covers are drawn for. Pick the place your trip was about, or keep the whole country on the front.

Westminster and the South Bank
Most London trips start here: the Houses of Parliament and the clock tower from Westminster Bridge, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye turning over the river and the long riverside walk east past the Southbank Centre to Tate Modern. The Big Ben cover belongs to this chapter, and so does the classic shot of a red phone box just off Parliament Square with the tower behind it.

Royal London and the parks
Buckingham Palace at the end of the Mall, the Changing of the Guard, the pelicans in St James's Park, deckchairs in Green Park and a walk across Hyde Park to Kensington. A book of a family trip often spends a whole day here, with the museums of South Kensington in the afternoon.

The West End and Covent Garden
Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, a matinee in theatreland and the piazza at Covent Garden. The bus cover's blind names Oxford Circus and Trafalgar Square, so it suits a trip spent shopping and seeing shows. Just across Bow Street from the Royal Opera House, Broad Court has a neat row of old red phone boxes, which makes either phone box cover a fitting choice too.

The City and the East End
The Tower of London and the Crown Jewels, the walkways of Tower Bridge, St Paul's seen from the Millennium Bridge, the painted roof of Leadenhall Market, then the street art of Shoreditch and a late bagel on Brick Lane. Old and new London sit side by side here, and it photographs that way.

Markets and neighbourhoods
The pastel houses of Notting Hill and the stalls of Portobello Road on a Saturday, Borough Market by London Bridge, Columbia Road's flower market on a Sunday morning, the view of the skyline from Primrose Hill. These are the pages that make a London book yours rather than a list of landmarks.

Greenwich, Kew and Windsor
Days out that stay in the same book: the meridian line at the Royal Observatory and the view from Greenwich Park across to Canary Wharf, the glasshouses at Kew Gardens, or the train to Windsor Castle. There is no cover drawn for them, so keep London on the front and let day pages mark the trip out of town.
London photo book ideas
Most London trips are a long weekend or a week of city days, each one in a different part of town and usually ending by the river. Here is how to turn them into chapters, from Westminster to the markets.
Build it chapter by chapter
Follow the route you took and let each stop be its own chapter. Turn on day pages and every day opens with a page you can title, so the book reads in the order you lived it.
Westminster and the river
Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament from Westminster Bridge, the red phone box near Parliament Square with the clock tower behind it, and the London Eye from the Embankment at dusk.
Palaces and parks
The guards in red tunics and bearskins at Buckingham Palace, the palace from the bridge over the lake in St James's Park, and the pelicans on the rocks nearby.
The West End
The lights at Piccadilly Circus after dark, Trafalgar Square from the steps of the National Gallery, the row of phone boxes on Broad Court, and the colourful courtyard of Neal's Yard.
The Tower and the City
Tower Bridge from the riverside by the Tower, a Yeoman Warder at the gate, St Paul's dome framed by the Millennium Bridge, and the ironwork of Leadenhall Market.
Markets and side streets
Pastel houses near Portobello Road, buckets of blooms on Columbia Road, the food stalls at Borough Market, and the skyline from the top of Primrose Hill.
A day out
One foot either side of the meridian line at Greenwich, the view back to Canary Wharf from Greenwich Park, the Palm House at Kew, or the Long Walk up to Windsor Castle.

The landmarks take care of themselves. These are the photos you’ll be glad you took.

- The view from the top deck
- Afternoon tea on a tiered stand
- A Sunday roast in a pub
- A black cab in the rain

Make it yours
London trips are short and packed, so day pages do a lot of work: one opens Saturday with the Tower and the river, the next opens Sunday with a market and a roast in a pub. Caption the names of the pubs, the show you saw and the stop you got off at, and add a note for the bits a photo misses, like the rain that sent you into the British Museum for the afternoon.
The cover's title and year are yours to change. Write the name of a hen weekend, a school trip or the year you moved to the city, or choose a photo cover style and put your own picture of Tower Bridge or the view from the top of the Shard on the front.
Hardcover, softcover or layflat
The same London cover on all three books. Choose the one that suits your trip.

London photo book questions
Which London cover suits a romantic weekend?
The phone box with a pink rose at its foot, on a soft pink ground, is the most romantic of the London covers. For an anniversary, retitle it with your names or the date and keep the year beneath.
Is there a London cover with a red bus?
Yes. The bus cover shows an old-style red double-decker on lilac, with a destination blind reading Oxford Circus and Trafalgar Square.
Can I make a London photo book of a family trip with children?
Yes. Day pages keep each day separate, so the Natural History Museum, the Tower and a West End musical each get their own opening. The bus and phone box covers are bright and simple, which children tend to like on the shelf.
My trip took in London and somewhere else in the UK. Can it go in one book?
Yes. A book can hold a whole trip, with day pages showing when you moved on to Edinburgh, Bath or the Cotswolds. Keep London on the cover or retitle it for the whole journey.
Can I make a London book of a Christmas trip?
Yes. Any cover works for a winter visit and you set the year yourself. Add the lights on Regent Street, the windows of the big department stores and an evening at a Christmas market, with a caption on each.
Can I use my own photo of Tower Bridge on the cover?
Yes. The drawn designs are one option; photo cover styles such as Image and Poster put a picture of your own on the front instead.
Can I make my London photo book on my phone?
Yes. Make it on the web here or in the TripMemo app on iPhone, which sorts your trip photos by day and place.
How much does a London photo book cost?
A London photo book starts at £26.49 for a softcover, £28.49 for a hardcover and £41.99 for a layflat, before delivery. The price grows with the pages you add, and you see the exact total, with delivery to your address, before you pay. UK orders usually arrive in 5 to 8 working days, and we ship worldwide.
How many photos do I need for a London photo book?
A short break usually gives 60 to 120 photos worth printing, which fill 24 to 40 pages. A week gives 150 to 250 photos for 40 to 80 pages, and two weeks or more 250 to 400 photos for 80 to 150 pages. Your photos are laid out for you, two to a page by default, and you can change it to one to four.
